Is it possible that a second group has the positive mode (+ in the object of the group pool)?
For me, group masters work as expected in Version 1.4.0.2

No, its a empty showfile with 4 dimmers in it. Created 1 executor for the "show cuelist" and 2 groupmasters for odd and even. So just one group each and nothing others.

Seems like
when I use the swipy, and then assign te Group on to a fader excutor. It does make a "groupmaster" but you can't do anything with it. Even when changing options in the group or executor itself. I spottet this 2 days ago in the latest version (1.4.0.2) of GRANDMA3 OnPC, and it is very anoying. Testen it on version 1.2.x.x and it worked. So it looks like a bug to me, but don't know
