is there anyway to disable the blackout function to certain fixtures or groups so that they can remain lit even if i use blackout ?

Hi b52,
parked fixtures will still light up when you use the blackout.So make your adustments to the lights and "MA" and "Pause" gives you the "Park" command.
Park fixture x please.
The parked fixtures or attributes will be displayed blue in the DMX view.Cheers
