SetGlobalVariable with prompt for multiple sequences

  • I can't seem to find the proper syntax for creating SetGlobalVar macro with a pop-up prompt which can insert multiple sequence identifiers.

    For example:

    SetGlobalVariable "variableX" (SELECT SEQUENCE NUMBERS?)

    A pop-up opens, I enter the value "1+2+3" (for sequences 1, 2 and 3)

Then I use it in a command: Set Sequence $variableX Cue 1 Thru 15 Part 0.1 Property "FadeFromX" 0 "FadeToX" 0

The command seems to only take the first number in the variable, in this case "1".

It seems to work if I enter 1 Thru 3 in the popup, but not with the "+" sign for selecting non-sequential sequence numbers.

  • Hello Laminar319

The Problem is, that when you use the macro, the console gets following command:

    Code
    SetGlobalVariable "variableX" 1+2+3

    it interprets this as

    Code
    SetGlobalVariable "variableX" "1"

    my current workaround is this:

    Code
    SetGlobalVariable "variableX" ("SELECT SEQUENCE NUMBERS?")

the the console gets following command:

    Code
    SetGlobalVariable "variableX" "1+2+3"

The only problem is, that the Quotation marks are also displayed in your Pop Up, but that does not affect its function. Maybe someone else knows a more elegant way
