def possible.. i found it more reliable to have a few strobe buttons with diff rates as the slider is not predictable as i want.. and speed on screen does not reflect actual light. just thought id share that
So, how?
How do you get the the strobe rate from an effect into the button? Or into a cue?
I know how to make an effect store to a cue, but I want the rate, regardless of the effect to be in a control. So, if I cue dim ballyhoo or pan sine or tilt sine, whatever, I can use the same fader (or buttons would be fine) to increase/decrease the strobe rate.
I also want this for speed now too.
By the way, I'm in an onPC version. Not sure if that matters.
There is a possibility to control the strobe rate with a fader. You need to save two cues on a seperate fader, one cue with your strobe at the lowest rate (raw strobe value in programmer) and one cue with the highest rate. Then change your fader type to Crossfader.
Unfortunately I think this is not possible with the effect speed as this is a virtual value and not a straight-to-dmx-value. Sadly there is no submasterspeed fader function in dot2. A workaround could be a seperate button in learn-mode with a command saved in it that let you set a subspeed for your cue like a tap button.
Good answers Schade. Thanks for the thoughts.
The best way to do this is to store a cue on a fader and make sure you only have strobe/rate info in that cue. make sure the rate value you choose is the maximum speed you want. Then you turn the facer into a Temp fader. This lets you fade that parameter up and down on the fader.
For FX Speed Store a Stomp of The corresponding FX on a Fader and set it to temp.
is it possible just to assign the cmd group xx ; macro xx
thus having a group thats interchangeable ?
