Custom gobos and the console showfile

  • Hi all

One of my fixtures uses these generic gobos, that are within the GrandMA2 gobo library, but not the GrandMA3 library. To resolve this (I literally searched through them all several times), I simply copied the MA2 gobo files over to the MA3 folder on my PC.

However and when I tried to copy this showfile across to our grandMA3 compact, it didn't work - they all disappeared. I tried copying the gobos to the USB file path: D:\grandMA3\gma3_library\fixturetyperesources\gobos, but they still didn't copy over to the console showfile.

What is the best way of copying over gobos to MA3 console that aren't in the existing gobo library? Any help would be amazing!

    Cheers - Elliot

  • On the station where the gobos actually exist and in the show file where they are used, if you open a Gobos pool and edit one of the images in question, is the {Installed} option enabled? If so, then only the file path will be saved in the show file, not the actual image. So you would want to disable the {Installed} option for these images.

Hey Ryan, thanks for the response - I confirm they weren't listed as "installed".

Based on the onpc version, all gobos seem to have the same setting. I've attached the settings for one of the gobos that hasn't transferred across (There are about five in total). All appear to have the "installed" option as being unchecked. In your experience, anything else to check?

Thanks for your help - Elliot
