How would you input a trigger from an acoustic snare drum?
Stick midi trigger to the snare an somehow get that midi signal to FOH?
Or get a direct audio feed from the snare into the audio in port?
Or any other options/ideas?

I saw a YouTube video from someone who gets an audio signal with only Kick and snare from the sound guy. That seems to work well.

Seem also the easiest option. Hope it works spot on as I fear the mic bleed from other sounds on stage will also trigger it. I will try it for sure! Thx!

Ask the sound guy to put a rather thight gate to the channel that he sends you so you would only get what you need. And define your eq bands in MA also
