You have also to tell the system on which XLR port RDM shall be used. Threfore go to the Output Configuration and change the Mode from Out to RDM on the desired RDM ports.
DMX Port Configuration - grandMA3 User Manual - Help pages of MA Lighting International GmbH
I'm asking this also because I've worked with RDM before but when I'm trying now no show any device.
Also make sure to add the RDM window to any of your views. I was expecting the RDM fixtures to magically show up in the Patch, which they don't. You need to add an RDM window, then they show up nicely.
In addition, there are two places where you have to activate RDM:
1.) Settings > Network. Look for the RDM button at the bottom right corner.
2.) Settings > Output Configuration (you have to select one of the DMX Ports (A, B, C, etc.) and switch from Out to RDM).
I can confirm it's working on 1.8.8.2 onPC and console.
thank you, It is works
HI
Somebody is using RDM with any elation node, with positive results?
There is an issue on the side of the Elation/Obsidian nodes.
They only start to work with RDM data when a ActFlush packet is sent to the node. Regarding the Art-Net 4 specification this packet is not required in order to start RDM.
Workaround: Use the DMX Workshop software from Artistic Licence in order to flush the RDM data of the node. Then it will respond to the RDM requests from grandMA2/grandMA3.

Thanks With obsidian Netron works fine, I'm just having trouble with this elation.
dherderich any workaround in mac?
Unfortunately not. At moment I don't know which software can send such a Flush packet that is running on macOS.
dherderich could you help me with the steps to flush a packake to my node please?
Here you can see how you can do this in DMX Workshop:
Open the Node List, then select the node in the list, do a right-click on it, and select "Force RDM Discovery". This will sent out a ActFlush packet for every port/universe of the node.
Here you can see the ActFlush packets in Wireshark:
The command 0x01 is the code for ActFlush, and the Address (here 0x00) defines for which universe at the receiver the ActFlush shall be executed.
Maybe this wireshark screenshot can help you to build such packets manually using applications like PacketSender if you don't have access to a Windows computer.
dherderich thanks I did it as you described, i flushed the rdm package but still no showing any rdm device, curious thing the node said rdm capable, but the server 10.0.0.1 say Node is not RDM capable (DMX unidirectional).
And you enabled RDM in the Network Menu of the grandMA3, and set Enable RDM in the Art-Net menu of the grandMA3 to Yes?
DMX between the grandMA3 and the node is working?

Yess and yes, the dmx works perfect is jut the RDM that isn't work.
I just saw, that the EN4 node returns a firmware version v2.94.
In my tests the EN4 had the firmware version v2.9.2 installed.
Although the Netron product page does not list a v2.94/v2.9.4 firmware version. Any chance you can update the Netron node to v2.9.2 and try it again?
dherderich I haven't problems with Netron, they worked flawless is just witn elation eNode4, another weird thing is why Workbench list the Ma3 as Ma2?.
Ok, there seems there was a confusion.
To clarify: Netron belongs to Elation, and Netron has an EN4 node in its product line.
The Elation node in your screenshot from DMX Workshop reports as EN4, but on the product page of Elation it is called eNode4.
So far I have only expeirence with the Netron EN4 node, not bis the Elation EN4.
About which Workbench software are you talking? I know only Shure Workbench.
dherderich you are right, Dmx workshop sorry , the capture is just making reference that rdm in the wing said not capable and is listed as grandma2 instead , not grandma3.
