hey folks,
I'm just wondering why the GridPos value in the attatched screenshot shows: 2.0.32759 instead of 2.2.32759 ?! it's from version 1.8.1.0
hey folks,
I'm just wondering why the GridPos value in the attatched screenshot shows: 2.0.32759 instead of 2.2.32759 ?! it's from version 1.8.1.0
Or why it doesn't say 2.2.0
What method did you use to place that fixture there? Group recall? Grid keyword? Tap/click in the selection grid? MAtricks? Something else?
i just klicked onto the 2/2/0 position in the grid view and then entered fixture 103 (please) into the cmd line...it always results in a wrong GridPos value. don't know why. same when i use other fixtures or linearized groups of fixtures. it never shows the correct position. and i built that show in 1.8.1.0 from scratch...
Do you have a cue running? I think that value is what's stored in the cue. If you activate dimmer at this point it should change to showing the current GridPos value for dimmer.
ah, maybe that is why. i'll have to check that tomorrow. so you mean if i activate dimmer, the programmer takes presedence over the cue and the GridPos value will be correct?
GridPos is individual per attribute, and is determined when you activate the attribute (and then stored into the preset / cue)
now I switched off all sequences and that solved my problem, except for the strange value in zed...and it also does not show the correct GridPos value, when i type: grid 1/1/1 fixture 103 (please). x, y are correct, but the value of zed is always such a strange 32 thousand number...
i also patched a completely new fixture which isn't a child of a grouping fixture, because i thought maybe the 'parent' causes the problem on zed. but that did not solve the problem either
i have an example here. i placed 4 fixtures in form of a column by typing: 1: grid 1/1/0 thru 1/1/-4 please, 2: fixture 101 thru 104 please.
and look what i've got for the zed values if i step thru it fixture by fixture using MAtricks...
grid 1/1/0 thru 1/1/-4
Can you confirm '-4' or is that a typo? Negative selection grid values are not currently supported. Perhaps that's why you're seeing this?
oh i did not know that. and yes it was a (-1)*4 deliberately. but it doesn't matter it's the same result when I type grid 1/1/1 thru 1/1/4, the zed value always fu**s up...
Ah, now I see. It looks to be just an error on the encoder bar. The fixture sheet shows the correct information as far as I can tell.
yeah, it is correct in the fixture sheet for me as well, but on the ecoderpage it is a strange zed value all the time. glad that this seems to happen to other users too. because i was thinkig 'wtf did i mess up there?' and couldn't figure it out. thanks for your input ryan, as always!
it's also strange that you can't type in a GridPos value in the encoder bar's calculator. does not matter what someone tries to type in it always says:
Dec 65537 which is basically 2^16 + 1.
