  • Happy Sunday, the day has arrived!

Where might the release notes be, on my phone it takes me to a time page for 1.6 PDF.

My guess it the manual page hasn't been updated yet, but might there be another link somewhere?

  • To which improvements are you referring?

    (Thanks Ryan)

It's now possible to use multiple parts at the same time in the programmer. (E.g. Dim in Part 1, Pan/Tilt in Part 2.) and store both to a cue.
If you later update this cue the software seem to remember what part the attributes came from now!

Combined with the Content sheet it's starting to look promising.

  • That is actually not new to v1.7! It's been that way for a few versions now.

What was improved in v1.7 includes this note from the "What's Changed" section:

    Quote

Presets that are set to CuePart 0 within their settings are now called into the selected programmer part, and not into programmer part 0 anymore. Presets with a different dedicated programmer part will always be called into this dedicated programmer part.

  • That is actually not new to v1.7! It's been that way for a few versions now.

It did not work in MY 1.6.3.7.....
You could add parts but everything went to Part Zero anyway.

(It was possible to store multiple Parts one by one, but not to work with multiple Parts in the programmer)

  • If you changed the "Cue Part" setting in the preset pools, then that information would go to the specified part in both the programmer and in cues. The part I quoted from the Release Notes is the improvement that makes this way easier (because before, everything defaulted to Part 0 and would stay there even if you selected a different Part). So it was technically possible to work that way before, but now it is much easier.

  • OK, there's a misunderstanding - I'm not talking about any Presets!
Just building a cue with multiple parts directly in the programmer (Programmer Parts-window / New ProgPart)

BUT It's the same building a cue with Presets actually!
    Preset 1 Dim/Part 1

    Preset 2 Pan/Part 2

    Preset 3 Color/Part 3

If you activated those 3 in v1.6 everything ended in one of the parts in the programmer.
This is also (secretly) fixed in v1.7 :)

Edited 2 times, last by Ringen ().

  • Yes, that is my point. It is the same setting - the {Cue Part} setting of preset pools affects both presets and values.

    • In v1.6 the Cue Part definition was always used for both presets and values regardless of the currently-selected Programmer Part.
    • In v1.7, if the Cue Part definition is not default, that will always be used. If the Cue Part definition is Default(0), such presets and values will apply to the Selected Programmer part instead.

And that is what that Release Note is saying. I don't think this is an undocumented functionality change in v1.7.

  • Dear Ryan. I regret mentioning the Presets, and you keep ignoring my other points...

    Never mind.

Allow me at least to say the change is undersold.

It should have it's own chapter named: PARTS - FINALLY USEFUL!

    So it's fixed?
    Thank you MA?

    It should
    ???
Very harsh wordings towards a (forum based) community helping each and others if you ask me.

  • Dear GGGss_be
Did you read and understand the posts leading up to it?
I don't feel hit by your criticism. (Not now, not in your previous post)

If I complain about something I usually have a hard time getting my point through.
Now when I want to give credit for something I also have to argue hard....
