Phaser doesn't start at first fixture

  • Hi all

    Here is my issue

    I created a dimmer phaser on 8 dimmers with a "0 thru 360" phases. In fact 0 thru 315 (360 - 360/8)

But when i launch it, it never starts at first fixture, but somewhere in my selection, randomly.

What is happening ? It seems phases are running in the background and my effect just starts where the phase counter is.

Is there a way to fix this ?

    Thanks

  • Thx Andreas

But my sync is Yes every where (profile, encoder bar, sequence)

If i disable sync in sequence, it starts somewhere, almost randomly, depending of the speed if i understand well.

If i enable sync in sequence, it starts where i stopped it before.

What i want is when i off (or toggle) and on again, it starts at the start, not anywhere else. As any desk, including gma1 and 2 does.

judging on your workflow description in other posts, this might be the case, (and expected outcome) based on given parameters.

    please consider to use

    Step 1 Full

    Step 2 Zero

rather than the opposite, as described in your workflow of other posts:

    Step 1 Zero

    Step 2 Full

when you want "Full" to happen as a specific time, independent of speed.

the timeline of a secondary step will by definition depend on the speed and width of earlier steps.

  • Hi Andreas I had the same issue on a show.

Could you explain when stored in a sequence and assigned to a speedmaster which step the phaser starts on a go?

In my cue I programmed a small effect something like:

    Code
    Step 1 Strobe Width 100
    Step 2 Release Width 100 // more
    Step 3 Release Width 100 // and
    Step 4 Release Width 100 // more
    Step 5 Release Width 100 // width
    Step 6 Release Width 100 // to
    Step 7 Release Width 100 // demonstrate
Step 8 Release Width 100 // the issue

What I want is that when the sequence is off and given a go it starts to the nearest of step 1, is that possible?

When the speedmaster is in range 0-50 of a beat it should start at step 1

When speedmaster is in range 50-100 of a beat it should start at step 8

There seems to be an issue in the current release with phaseclock in combination with speedmasters.

After you have assigned the sequence to an external speedmaster, all bets are off regarding where in the cycle the phaser starts, even if you remove the speedmaster assignment again.

If you need a dedicated startpoint of the phaseclock more than the speedmaster, you can copy the sequence to a fresh new sequence slot, and remove the speedmaster assignment (before you start it)
