  • I am looking to switch our lighting from the Onyx lighting software to dot2's lighting software.

We currently have this hardware as far as converting USB to DMX:

    - Martin USB-DMX Box (https://www.martin.com/en/prod…tin-usb-duo-dmx-interface)

    - Elation DMX-Branch x4 Dmx Booster (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c…_way_dmx_distributor.html)

I am curious if you guys know of a way we can get this hardware to work with the on PC application. If not, what are some easy devices I can use to allow easy use of the application?

I know the dot2 node has been discontinued, so whatever is the best way to go about using the application I would love to hear. We currently are using a multi universe setup with Onyx, but we can probably re-route cables and have it all be on one if that is a requirement.

    Thanks!

  • dot2 onPC can only output 1 universe for free, via Art-Net or sACN.

Where are you located? ACT Entertainment in North America may have one or two dot2 nodes floating around if you wanted them.

Located in Arkansas, I might see if they have any. Do you happen to know if it is possible to do one universe with the USB DMX device I listed or would I have to order another product?

  • Any usb-dmx interface can be used and the Art-Net to DMX application from the freestyler package. Unfortunately, your Martin interface is not supported.

The best solution is to buy a normal artnet for dmx node (like chauvet DMX AN2), which will also be able to work with any software in the future.

dot2 node 1K is a great solution if you need more parameters
