I will report several issues in the same post to reduce number of topics.
Feel free to add to the list.
I'm hoping someone with the necessary powers could report them to MA and leave a note if they do.

#1 - Confirmed by MA
On Dual-Encoder 5 the encoder resolution options are always visible. (Light CRV)
The Channel Functions are not visible. -
#2 - Confirmed by MA
Using the Dual Encoders 'Press and turn' option with multiply makes values jump all over.
Also when you release and continue to turn you get a huge jump.(Inner encoder with default settings)
Very promising options but was this tested before release at all?
It's so far out I'm wondering if I have a hardware error?Update. Testing on a 16-bit parameter it was easier to see what was going on.
The current value is not transferred when you press/release so it's actually keeping two different values counting... -

What fixtures? Which attributes? What resolution and readout?

Correct - I use all 5 encoders for Attributes
What fixtures? Which attributes? What resolution and readout?
All Fixtures, All Attributes, All resolutions and readouts (That I have tried)
Best seen with resolution Fine:I adjust from 0 to 5
Then I press and adjust to 20 (With multiply 5)I release and continue adjusting and it starts from 5 again
If I press it starts from 20 and so on...
If I wait 2 seconds after I release before I continue to turn it seems to work...
This was a new show with Alpha Spot QWO 800 from MA3 library adjusting Dim

Ringen... Lost me here. You saying that you set up your 5 encoders to act as attribute controlers? I always thought the 5th encoder was for internal display movement only.
Never Mind.. Learn something new today lol. Never realized you could turn on off in a custom user profile. -
Jason Gardash I'm glad that's possible because I see no use for the Screen Encoder.
I think it's much easier and quicker to do it with touch.
I'm interested to hear if anyone else can reproduce the 'press and turn' issue? -

Finally able to sit at an MA3 in Mode 3 and I can also confirm that as long as you switch between pressed and unpressed in a somewhat fluid movement, for example while spinning the encoder you press it too hard and change to 5X mode it does jump between values in the two modes.
There also seems to be a bug where where one of the modes ends up either < 0 or >100 (while showing 0 or 100), For example:
- For good measure do a ReloadUI
- Select a fixture and go to the Dimmer Attribute
- While in Percent Fine, Spin the encoder from 0% to 100%.
- Then within 2 seconds press the encoder and go from 100% to 0%. The encoder sometimes gets stuck at 100% for a number of turns. I say sometimes since occasionally it works fine.
If you wait longer then 2ish seconds between the spin up and the pressed spin down it seems to work as you expect.
I have noticed this with other Attributes where it seems like the encoder is not working for a moment.

#3
In a Fixture Sheet with Fixture Sort ON and Prog Only ON:
I select some fixtures and they show up
I try to select the NAME-cell for one of the Fixtures - That Fixture is sent to the bottom (Same for FID-cell)
Only way to select the cell you want is when your fixture is at the bottom.
I assume this is wrong, but if not I would like to know the purpose.
-
#4 - Confirmed by MA
Clone Fixture 1 At Fixture 2 If Sequence 1
This works (Not really - see below) , BUT it also changes values for other Fixtures in the Sequence!!
Tried to do the same within a World with only Fixture 1 and 2 - Same problem
Tried to set World as input filter - Same problem
This was with the option "Overwrite" - I don't think it means overwrite fixtures not specified....?
Although it makes no sense it could have something to do with the fact that the fixtures cloned and the other fixtures share some presets.
Digging deeper I noticed that the Source Fixture also is changed in the sequence!
And the Destination Fixture didn't get the values from the Source SO totally 100% useless for me at the moment.

#5 - Confirmed by MA
If you load a show with unsaved changes in your current show you get a dialog.
Choosing "Do not Save" in this dialog is not respected and the show is saved anyway!
If I don't want to save it's usually because another bug has messed up something so this was a nasty one.

This is expected. Tapping on a fixture in the fixture sheet adds that fixture to the end of your selection (more accurately, it adds it at the location of the cursor as shown in the selection grid). If you already had the fixture selected, then it moves to the end of the selection. By the way, this is also how it worked in MA2.

Are you sure?
I found it confusing.
Have not really used MA2 much, but since my desk for some reason can start in MA2 mode too I thought I'd give it a try.In MA2 it does add the fixture I tap to the end of the selection, but it doesn't disappear under my fingertip!
Only if I disable and re-enable 'Fixture Sort' will I see the new selection order in MA2.
This makes more sense to me.
That's also how it works in MA3 with Prog Only OFF by the way... -

The MAtricks section in the manual is not updated with the new syntax.
-
yes there is a problem with the new syntax

Hey guys,
thanks a lot for your feedback. This is always very helpful for us.- Regarding the Fixture At Fixture issue: This is something we are already working on for the next software version. So we know that there are some issues but this will be definitely improved.
- The "Do not save" bug is also known and currently we are working on this to fix it!
- About the issues with the dual encoders - some of them are known, but some seem to be new as well (at least for me ;-)). Let me check this and address it to our developers.
Thank you very much again. This feedback is highly appreciated!
-
So, got some results here already
Ringen : We can reproduce the issue with the channel functions on the 5th encoder and will address this to our developers. Thanks for this!
What we can not reproduce is the issue with the value jumps when you press the encoder. Could you maybe do a short video where we can see this and send it to us (help@malighting.com)?
That would be really helpful. Thanks a lot!
-
This happens consistently to me as I noted above.
In this attached video I have my Light in session with onPC and recording from there. I'm using a macro that changes the Grand Master to help denote when I press and release the encoder.
Fairly simple to reproduce for me.
- select the dimmer
- slowly roll the encoder clockwise
- press the encoder while continuing to turn the encoder clockwise
- encoder jumps. Where is jumps depends on where it was previously.
