I recently started working on a show in MA3 on PC and I noticed that none of my 3D objects (which were imported from Vectorworks in an MVR file) cast shadows or block light in the 3D window. I have gone into the patch for all the objects and made sure that the cast shadow option is turned on. I'm guessing there is another patch option or setting somewhere, but I haven't been able to find anything. If anyone has any ides or can help that would be greatly appreciated!

Double-check your Beam Quality setting in 3D - it needs to be on a quality setting with "Shadow" in the name (Gobo Shadow, High Shadow, or High Shadow Fancy).

yeah, I have it set to gobo shadow, the light beams are still going straight through objects.

Is shading turned on for the actual fixtures/objects in the patch?

Seems almost like Normals got flipped by VW when it wrote the MVR...making the 'front' the 'back' and vice verse on the 3DS files...from a 3D standpoint as to why 'shadows' are not being rendered.
I've witnessed VW 'strangeness' with regards to Normals and Exporting...doubling up, etc.
Good luck!

It's look like exporting MVR doesn't works 100% all the time.
When I export MVR file from VW I got all the truss spread on the 3D surface wile the fixture were on the correct position.
